- Ch = Chain(s)
- Dc = Double crochet
- Dtr = Double treble crochet
- Hdc = Half double crochet
- Rep = Repeat

Notes:
- The turning chain 2 does not count as an hdc.
- To switch colors, work until the last two or three loops on the hook, then pull in the new color to complete the stitch.
Pattern Instructions:
Foundation: Start with MC and chain 168.
Row 1: Make 1 hdc in the third chain from the hook, then 1 hdc in each chain across. Turn. (166 hdc)
Row 2: Chain 2. Work in the back loops only, making 1 hdc in each stitch across. Turn.
Rows 3-7: Repeat Row 2. Join Color A at the end of the last row.
Row 8: With Color A, chain 3 (counts as dc). Skip the next three hdc. Make 1 dtr in the next hdc. Then, working in front of the dtr, make 1 dc in each of the three skipped hdc. Repeat from * to * across the row. End with 1 dc in the last hdc. Turn.
Row 9: Chain 3 (counts as dc). Skip the next three dc. Make 1 dtr in the next dtr. Then, working behind the dtr, make 1 dc into each of the three skipped dc. Repeat across, finishing with 1 dc in the turning chain. Turn.
Row 10: Chain 3 (counts as dc). Skip the next three dc. Work 1 dtr in the next dtr. Then, working in front of the dtr, make 1 dc into each of the three skipped dc. Repeat across, ending with 1 dc in the turning chain. Turn.
Row 11: Repeat Row 9. Join MC at the end.
Row 12: With MC, chain 2. Work 1 hdc in each stitch across. Turn.
Row 13: Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Rows 2-13 nine more times, then repeat Rows 2-5 once.

Edging:
- Chain 2 and work hdc evenly along the left edge of the afghan. Fasten off.
